Lavender Martini
Ingredients:
For the Lavender Syrup:
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender buds
For the Lavender Martini:
2 oz gin
1/2 oz lavender syrup (adjust to taste)
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
Ice
Fresh lavender sprigs, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Make the Lavender Syrup:
In a small saucepan, combine the water and sugar over medium heat.
Stir the mixture until the sugar has completely dissolved.
Add the dried lavender buds to the saucepan.
Simmer the mixture for 5-7 minutes, allowing the lavender to infuse into the syrup. Be careful not to let it boil.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
Strain the syrup to remove the lavender buds, and transfer it to a clean container. You can store any extra lavender syrup in the refrigerator for future use.
Prepare the Lavender Martini:
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice to chill the martini.
Pour the gin, lavender syrup, and fresh lemon juice into the shaker.
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. This chills and mixes the ingredients thoroughly.
Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass.
Garnish and Serve:
If desired, garnish the Lavender Martini with a fresh lavender sprig.
Serve the martini immediately while it's ice-cold.
