Lavender Martini

Ingredients:

For the Lavender Syrup:

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender buds

For the Lavender Martini:

  • 2 oz gin

  • 1/2 oz lavender syrup (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice

  • Ice

  • Fresh lavender sprigs, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Make the Lavender Syrup:

    • In a small saucepan, combine the water and sugar over medium heat.

    • Stir the mixture until the sugar has completely dissolved.

    • Add the dried lavender buds to the saucepan.

    • Simmer the mixture for 5-7 minutes, allowing the lavender to infuse into the syrup. Be careful not to let it boil.

    • Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.

    • Strain the syrup to remove the lavender buds, and transfer it to a clean container. You can store any extra lavender syrup in the refrigerator for future use.

  2. Prepare the Lavender Martini:

    • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice to chill the martini.

    • Pour the gin, lavender syrup, and fresh lemon juice into the shaker.

    • Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. This chills and mixes the ingredients thoroughly.

    • Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass.

  3. Garnish and Serve:

    • If desired, garnish the Lavender Martini with a fresh lavender sprig.

    • Serve the martini immediately while it's ice-cold.

Enjoy your Lavender Martini! This cocktail offers a delightful blend of floral and citrus notes with a touch of sweetness from the lavender syrup. Adjust the lavender syrup quantity to suit your taste, as the strength of lavender flavor can vary depending on personal preference.
